Gemini Partners With Apex on Crypto Prediction Markets,…

Gemini Space Station, Inc. and Apex Fintech Solutions Inc. have signed a letter of intent that would make Gemini’s subsidiary, Gemini Titan, the exclusive regulated venue for crypto prediction market contracts distributed through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant to Apex’s brokerage customers, the companies announced on Monday.

The arrangement would give Apex‘s brokerage clients regulated access to crypto prediction markets without building their own exchange connectivity, positioning Gemini as the exclusive CFTC-regulated venue for crypto event contracts moving through Apex’s distribution network. Brokerages that offer crypto event contracts through Apex’s FCM will route execution and clearing to Gemini, and the two firms said they expect to finalize the details in the coming weeks.

Inside The Gemini-Apex Arrangement

Brokerages that list crypto event contracts through Apex’s FCM will send execution and clearing to Gemini, which anchors the crypto lane exclusively to Gemini Titan. Beyond crypto, the agreement lets Apex work with Gemini on further contract categories, including sports, economics, and financial markets, on a non-exclusive basis, leaving those event types open to other venues.

Travis McGhee, Global Head of Digital Markets at Apex Fintech Solutions, framed the collaboration as connecting established finance with newer products. He said the partnership lets Apex’s brokerage clients reach regulated crypto event contracts without constructing the underlying infrastructure themselves, which he described as the Apex model.

The deal channels distribution toward a consumer product Gemini has spent the past year building out. Gemini rolled out its predictions platform across all 50 U.S. states after securing CFTC approval, opening regulated event-based trading nationwide on web and mobile. It later layered Elon Musk’s Grok AI into the platform through a feature that generates personalized event feeds and market signals across crypto, politics, economics, commodities, sports, and culture.

The prediction market remains one of blockchain’s growing sectors. In recent weeks, weekly trading volume across the market has ranged between $10.4 billion and $11.2 billion according to data from Artemis, with Kalshi commanding the majority of that volume. As of August 24, this week’s trading recorded a reported 75.8 million trades across multiple prediction markets, with open interest reaching $1.4 billion.

Licenses That Cleared The Runway

The collaboration extends a run of product and regulatory progress at Gemini. In April, its subsidiary Gemini Olympus obtained a CFTC Derivatives Clearing Organization license, bringing derivatives clearing and settlement for Gemini Titan in-house. In December 2025, Gemini Titan secured a Designated Contract Market license from the CFTC, which cleared the way for the company to launch predictions trading. That approval capped a licensing effort Gemini began pursuing well ahead of the rollout, when it moved to operate a designated contract market under the Titan banner.

Tyler Winklevoss, CEO of Gemini, said the company drew on more than a decade of operating a regulated crypto platform and chose to build its predictions platform internally. He said Gemini views predictions as the future of markets and that the in-house approach lets the firm widen its offering and open access to partners such as Apex as demand for event contracts grows.

The two companies already share a working relationship. In July, Gemini launched stock trading with 0% commissions for certain U.S. customers, with Apex Clearing Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Apex, acting as custodian and clearing broker. That clearing structure now underpins the two firms’ expanded move into crypto event contracts.
